About This Spot

Stepping into Bintulu Korean Restaurant in the bustling heart of Kota Kinabalu’s Lintas Plaza feels like entering a warm, intimate corner of Korea tucked away amidst the everyday rhythm of Sabah. The soft murmur of conversations mingles with the gentle sizzle of meats grilling over charcoal, creating a comforting hum that invites you to slow down and savor the moment.

This is a spot where the pace is unhurried, where the tactile experience of gathering around a grill melds seamlessly with the simple pleasure of good company. The seating arrangements, including cozy tables designed for small groups, foster a sense of closeness and shared discovery. Though the space can feel a little snug when the BBQ fires up, it somehow adds to the authenticity—a reminder of the lively, communal spirit that Korean barbecue brings to the table.

Here, the menu unfolds like a thoughtful journey through Korean flavors—rich, layered, and inviting. From the comforting warmth of kimchi soup brimming with tender meats and silken tofu to vibrant bowls of bibimbap served piping hot in claypots, each dish carries a distinct character. The subtle sweetness of honey pork BBQ balances beautifully with the tang of honey lemon pork, while the seafood pancake offers a crispy, savory reprieve. And when it’s time to unwind, the carefully selected Korean drinks, including popular soju options, round out the experience with familiar, soothing notes.

Dining at Bintulu feels less like a hurried meal and more like a shared celebration of flavors and textures. The atmosphere encourages connection—whether you’re catching up with friends over a mix grill or quietly soaking in the evening for yourself. It’s a place where the food tastes like home for those longing for a touch of Korea, and a place of discovery for those new to its rich culinary tapestry.

Authentic korean restaurant feel in KK , only that the air circulation can be abit stuffy within when everyone is cooking their meat. The kimchi soup is nice and full of meats, the seafood pancake is nice.

Nice Korean food here. Eat since last time and the taste always good Very cute sitting table But if you eat BBQ meat then you will become smelly after it because it’s inside a Aircond room and the air circulation not so well. But the food taste overall is tasty is nice

There are no longer physical menu provided, you need to scan a QR code to place order. Service wise is fast! After placed order, took 5 minutes for the drinks to arrived. Impressive! We ordered Kimchi Soup, Kimbap, BBQ Pork (G), Korean Red Dates Tea and Korean Green Tea (Pot). It cost us RM103 in total. I think is the best Kimchi Soup so far as is more concentrated and a lot of meat, toufu and rice cake can be found. BBQ Pork (G) also taste good! It just that they don't provide us black bean as one of the side dishes to pairing up with. Do take note, lettuce were not provided together with the BBQ pork meat order, need to add on if thinking of wrapping the meat with lettuce. Kimbap also good! The portion just nice for 2 person. I find the Korean Red Dates Tea so refreshing, hoping they could have it in pot too.. We sit at the inner side of the restaurant, find that the air-conditioner blast too cold and is directly hit towards us Luckily there's soup, hot tea and the grilling on pork meat to warm us up. Revisit this place after pandemic. My last visit was back in 2019. There are no longer FREE ice cream like last time before the pandemic year. But food portion still remain the same. Will order their seafood rice cake next time, which is my favorite.
